Awards highlight quality of Irish products available to SuperValu customers nationwide
SuperValu customers have even more reason to choose Irish this year, as producers whose products are stocked in SuperValu stores secured 112 awards at the 2026 Blas na hÉireann Irish Food Awards, celebrating some of the best food and drink being produced across the island of Ireland.
The winning products span SuperValu Own Brand and SuperValu Signature Tastes, alongside award-winning products from Food Academy producers, the Happy Pear and Clean Cut Meals ranges, giving customers a broad choice of award-winning food and drink from businesses and communities around Ireland.
This year’s haul included 14 Gold, 21 Silver and 17 Bronze awards for Own Brand producers, as well as recognition in specialist categories including Supreme Champion and Chef’s Larder for Food Academy producers. Among the Gold medal winners were standout products including Signature Tastes Fresh Irish Monkfish Bites with Honey & Garlic Aioli, Signature Tastes Smoked Allenwood Cheese, Signature Tastes Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice and SuperValu Mango Kefir. From everyday favourites to products created for special occasions, the results reflect the quality, variety and creativity customers can find across SuperValu stores.
For shoppers, the Blás na hÉireann mark offers another way to identify standout Irish products. Entries are blind tasted by a judging panel drawn from across Ireland’s food sector, with winning products recognised for their quality and taste.
Food Academy producers, which reflect SuperValu’s commitment to supporting up-and-coming Irish food and drink businesses, were recognised for their contribution to the Irish food and drink sector, securing a total of 60 well-deserved awards. Fire & 5th from Dublin, won a gold, silver & bronze award for their non-alcoholic drinks range, which is designed to offer a better way to drink for people. The range is made with blends of natural fruit & botanical extracts, delivering a bold sensorial experience ensuring everyone stays part of the night out.
The Happy Pear also won 4 awards for the Happy Pear Sweet Beet Hummus, the Happy Pear Red Pepper Hummus, the Happy Pear Spicy Red Pepper Pesto and the Happy Pear Topped Hummus with Sundried Tomatoes.

The Blás na hÉireann awards is now a staple event in the Irish food and drink sector calendar and remains Ireland’s most coveted food and drink competition. As well as rewarding outstanding contributions to the Irish food and drink sector, the competition also showcases the best products from around the island of Ireland. Every year there are thousands of entries into over 200 food and drink categories, reflecting SuperValu’s commitment to championing the very best in Irish food and drink.
